Sister Doris (Dodie) Landers

November 13, 1932 – February 1, 2016
Sister Doris (Dodie) Landers, OSU, was born into eternal life on Feb. 1, 2026. She was 93 years old and living at St. Andrews at Francis Place in Eureka, Missouri.
The daughter of Harry Landers and Helen McManus Landers, she was born on Nov. 13, 1932, in Auburn, Illinois. She wanted to be an Ursuline Sister from the time she knew them through PSR classes in her parish church, but after graduating from Auburn High School she went to work at Marine Bank in Auburn while caring for her mother, which was of primary importance to her.
After her mother died, Sister Dodie entered the Ursuline community on June 27, 1987, and professed her vows on Jan. 14, 1990. From 1990-2016, she used her financial background by serving Ursuline communities in New Orleans, Louisiana; Laredo, Texas; and Alton and Springfield, Illinois, as an assistant treasurer, treasurer and councilor. Upon retirement, she lived in Alton until moving to Francis Place in Eureka in 2021
In addition to her parents, Sister Dodie was predeceased by her twin sister, Delores, with whom she enjoyed traveling.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 7, in the chapel at Ursuline Academy in Kirkwood, Missouri. Burial was at St. Peters cemetery in Kirkwood.
