Ways to Advance Our Mission

The Ursulines of the Central Province are part of a world-wide congregation, the Ursulines of the Roman Union. Our Ursuline sisters serve on six continents and in thirty-six countries.

Communities of the Central Province are located in Illinois, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri and Texas. As a province we sponsor four schools and a retreat center. In addition to education and retreat ministry, Ursulines serve as parish ministers, as spiritual directors and as hospital chaplains. Some of our sisters have answered the call to serve in mission countries and in under-served parts of our own North American continent.

Our life of contemplative prayer is the means of nurturing the same faith and confidence in God that St. Angela, our foundress, had. Confident of God’s help, we have the courage to keep our commitment to live and work for peace through justice in all our relationships, toward all peoples and cultures, toward the earth and all creation.

Do not lose courage . . .Have confidence and strong faith that God will assist you in everything.
- St. Angela Merici, Foundress of the Ursuline Sisters

Each of the following areas serves a very important and urgent need of Central Province Ursuline Sisters:
  • A van that seats 8-10 and that is equipped with a wheelchair lift.
  • Four New Recliners (Chairs)
  • New Whirlpool Bath

Please consider naming the Ursuline Provincialate, Central Province of the United States, in your will.

Your continued prayers will be a source of strength for every Ursuline Sister.
May God bless you and your loved ones!
