We are impelled by the mission of Jesus and the spirit of St. Angela to respond to the most urgent needs of our times in a variety of ministries.

We continue to support a strong educational ministry at four Ursuline-sponsored academies in New Orleans, Louisiana; St. Louis, Missouri; and Dallas, Texas. Additionally, Ursulines minister in parish grade schools, religious education programs, colleges, prison programs, early childhood centers, ESL and adult literacy programs, and environmental awareness programs.

We sponsor Villa Maria Retreat and Conference Center in Frontenac, Minnesota. Through this commitment and involvement in other forms of pastoral ministry – including parish service, retreat and spiritual direction, hospital chaplaincy, counseling, art and music – we strive to nurture the growth and healing of the whole person during each stage of the life journey.

Our solidarity with the poor has called us to minister more directly with those less fortunate in our society, those marginalized because of economics, ethnic background, prejudice, lack of education, domestic violence, etc. Some of our sisters are involved today in direct ministry with Hispanic and African-American communities and in centers with special outreach to women and children.

While we minister predominantly in the states of Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana, opportunities abound for international service and mission work. Because we belong to a worldwide group of sisters, we have opportunity for ministry wherever the Gospel calls us. We currently have sisters living and ministering in Mexico, Brazil, Cameroon, Israel, and at our international center in Rome.

Our mission is to bring the Gospel of Jesus to all as we seek to be agents of peace through justice both locally and globally.
