Ways to Give
Minimize

There are many ways you can support the work of the Ursulines in the United States provinces. Please consider the following:

Gift of Support Today – You can make an unrestricted gift, which will be used where most needed, or designate that it be used for the care of retired sisters or for a specific ministry.

Bequests – A bequest allows you to make a gift while retaining your assets during your lifetime, and can eliminate or reduce federal estate taxes.

Stocks or Securities – If you choose to make a gift of appreciated securities (stocks, bonds and mutual funds) they are deductible at fair market value on the day they are transferred to the Ursulines.

Gifts of Real Estate or Personal Property – You might consider giving a gift of real estate. Many types of real estate or personal property may be eligible for the same tax benefits as gifts of securities. Consider giving land, a vacation home, or personal residence; or collections of works of art. An appraisal is required to establish the fair market value of the gift for tax purposes.

Retained Real Estate Gift – You can donate your property but continue to live there.

Life Insurance, Retirement or Annuity plans - Naming the Ursuline Sisters as a beneficiary on an existing, paid-up life insurance policy, your retirement plan, or insurance annuity assets are other ways to show your support.

Monthly Gifts or Pledges – Consider making monthly gifts. We can send you 12 envelopes each year for your convenient gift giving. You may also wish to pledge a gift and arrange to be billed on a quarterly or biannual basis.

Matching Gifts – If your employer has a matching gift program, and gifts to religious organizations are eligible, you may be able to double and sometimes triple your donation to the Ursulines.

Memorials and Tributes – Another caring way to support the Ursulines is to give a gift in memory or in honor of a relative, friend, colleague, favorite teacher, mentor or classmate. A gift celebrating an anniversary, birthday, or other milestone in someone’s life is also a thoughtful way to give. When you give in someone’s honor, we inform that person of your thoughtfulness. When you make a memorial gift, we notify the family of your compassion and support during their time of sorrow.

Always seek advice before you give.

It is always advisable to consult with your tax adviser before making any decisions regarding significant charitable gifts. This will safeguard your interests and those of your family.
